NATO's AI-Powered Sentinel: Protecting Undersea Infrastructure


 
The vulnerability of critical undersea infrastructure, such as pipelines and communication cables, has become a significant concern in recent years. 
 
Acts of sabotage, like the Nord Stream pipeline explosions and the Balticconnector gas pipeline burst, have demonstrated the potential for severe disruptions to energy and communication networks. To address this growing threat, NATO has developed a sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) tool called "Mainsail."  

Mainsail is designed to enhance maritime security by analyzing vast amounts of data from various sources, including satellite imagery, sonar systems, and underwater sensors.
